Can someone confirm or deny

…that they the crowd actually did the “Naaahhh Naaahhhh hey hey hey goodbye” chant at the inauguration ceremony yesterday when Bush left?

I heard a couple people allude to this on the radio today.

According to the NY Times official blog, there was a chant when he left on the helicopter.

I heard it re-played a couple of times on some of the talk shows yesterday.

One of the most classless things I’ve ever heard. Not surprising though.

Not overly surprising when you have 2 million+ people loitering around Washington who are all looking to the next guy for some form of handout, relief, package, program, stimulus, etc, etc, etc.

Very classy.

I actually heard someone say that Bush “deserved it”.

Wow.

I may not agree with his politics but I’ll never show anything like that kind of disrespect to our President…whether I voted for him or not.

You can bet if that situation had been reversed, it would have been all over the news.

Typical Obama voters - no class. (low class)

Your response places you head and shoulders above those gauche individuals.

yup. I was there and heard it with my own ears. But I wouldn’t say it was the crowd. Just groups within the crowd. I also found the booing of Bush/Cheney distasteful.

ha…then why is it that the typical thoughts from people who are even Obama fans is that the incidents were “classless” and pathetic examples of sophomoric behaviour?

That’s not what you said. You characterized the actions of a minority of people as applying to an entire class. That is sophomoric.

No no…I really do think that anyone who voted for Obama was fooled by a typical corrupt Chicago crook…Wait, I understand that Mr. Obama is the ONE, ONE and only Chicago political figure who is not criminal…uh huh…

Do you think all Presidents in our history had a clean record?

I heard it live on MSNBC. It happened shortly after Executive 1 lifted off.

Do you think all Presidents in our history had a clean record?
Not a one of em…does not take away from the fact that Obama most probably will turn out to be no more than the Wizzard of Oz…I cant wait for his honeymoon to end.

There is no way he can live up the hype. I was watching coverage from around the world and the enthusiasm in places outside of America is higher than within the U.S., in many places. It’s all getting a little silly to be honest.

If he actually does 10% of what many think he is going to do, he will have a decent term.

The problem is that for every person thinking he will end the wars, make America safe, provide jobs and a home for all there are just as many waiting for him to fall

I’d just like to see something in the middle.

And what of the Crowd that was booing Obama during McCain’s concession speech? Or the lady that called Obama an Arab at a McCain rally?

Class has nothing to do with partisanship and only the those who themselves are classless and partisan would suggest otherwise.

After the last 8 years of incompetence and abject failure its understanable that people’s faith in leadership and in the power of the Office of the President is shaken, but Obama is no Bush. I think that for the first time in a very long time, this country has elected a leader rather than a shrewd politician. I think he will do great things and surprise you Casey.

Very classy.

If more people adopted your attitude this country would be a better place. It’s fine to disagree with someone but c’mon, does anyone really think he meant to destroy the country with his actions? Or be unlawful? Not a chance.

I’m beginning to think that Matt does.

I think the best thing Obama has done is get people excited about the country where they live. It has been a while since Americans have been this excited about a new President.
