Can riders draft team cars?

I didn’t catch who it was, but I noticed some blatant drafting tonight? Two were riding probably 5 meters behind the car. Then another car went buy and the guy moved right over and latched on. Is that all good?

it’s tolerated in some specific situations…crash, flat, getting bottles at the back, as long as

  1. you don’t use it too much (discretion of the race director)
  2. it doesn’t affect the outcome of the race (debatable)

I believe they can temporarily if they have a flat or mechanical to get back up to speed.

You’re thinking of the Cofidis riders I think. Its similar to getting a little help when grabbing a water bottle from your DS. As long as it isn’t too brazen they usually let it slide.
