I’m going to be downtown (Sheraton Hotel and Towers) on Aug 30-Sept 1 and would really like to get a ride in (can’t run due to injury). A rental road bike from BikeChicago is $50/day–pretty steep. Anyone live near the Sheraton, have a 54/55 cm road bike, and want to rent it?
You think I’d let you rent my bike for less then 50 bucks? I’ll rent it for you for less then that with a 5K security deposit in the form of cashiers check or money order.
Man, if your bike is worth $5,000 I wouldn’t want to rent it for fear I’d crash it! I’m not looking for the latest carbon fiber masterpiece, just something I can get a good workout on.
And, where’s the trust?! People sell things through the mail over the ST classifieds that are worth thousands of dollars all the time. All my personal information is in my profile. I’ve been posting for a while. I’m not going to steal anyone’s bike. I’ll leave my driver’s license and credit card.
Or, better, someone can lend me their spare bike and we can ride together.
