Can I put 700s on a 650c frame?

If this is a stupid question-sorry.

What components do I need to buy/attach/etc on my bike (pic below) to integrate 700c wheels onto the M/L softride frame?

I’m no expert on this.
But I’m guessing that the only thing you’d need to replace is the frame.

EDIT: ok, that was a smart-ass comment.
I don’t know much about softrides, but the bike looks pretty good as-is. do you really need to change it?

LOL, I nearly ruptured something laughing.

It might work if you run the 700s without tires…

the fork too.

Looking at that frame, no way. the frame butts right up against the wheel with the 650s on. My question would be why would you want to? Yeah its nice to be able to swap wheels, but I curently have 4 bikes all with a different wheel size and its not really that big a deal, just make sure the tool kit has the right tube in it when you go for a ride. I made that mistake on one of only two flats this year.

04 Dual=650
06 TCR2=700
80? Fuji=27"
06 Mt Bike=26"

not suggested. if you could do it (and this is a big ‘if’) on this softride, the resultant machine would be a monstrosity.

related, the bike you show does not fit you at all, if this is the way you have it set up for riding.

I’m 6’ 225 lbs. I’d prefer bigger tires, without getting another frame.

You’re welcome

Bigger tires? You can go wider if you want more comfort, not sure of availability for 650s though.

That isnt how my bike it currently set up, that was the pic the old owner sent me. The beam is MUCH lower, and the seat is a little closer.

I deleted it to find a more current pic, but I couldn’d find one.

Not a stupid question at all. Long ago Softride used to have something to allow the old Power-V to be converted from 700C to 650C. Some sort of drop-out insert (some sort of fork change/mods were required, too). But you can’t convert that PowerWing from 650C to 700C.

The 650 700 debate goes on here a lot. Wondering why you want bigger (700) tires. If you want wider tires they can be had in 650’s also.

hey, do you know where one can buy wider tires for 650c ? who makes 'em? and how wide do they come?
