Can I fit in a Weekly TT or is it to much

I mainly race standard and sprint Duathlons.

Currently my training centres around the following key sessions a 1 hour 5 lap evening crit on Tuesdays which is a fast hard session .Wednesday - Swim session (I am hoping to do a couple of oly tris this year) Thursday = a track session or Farklet rand ,Currently friday is a steady bike or run (or rest day if racing at weekend).

Saturday = bike intervals 4minx8 with 1.5rec. ride from 1:30 to 2:00, + 30-40 min run + club swim session. Sunday 2-3 hour bike 40-50min run or race. Monday - rest day (may start to do a short openwater swim session). On race weekends I usualy do a 40 min ride with 5x1min race pace efforts.

Last year I did some evening 10’s on a Friday and wanted to continue them this year but if I include these I guess it will junk my Saturday intervals? Maybe I could do one every few weeks instead?

Running is a big weekness so guess it may be wise to include another quality run session - perhaps on Tuesdays in the morning or as a brick session after crit.

don’t worry about the brick, worry about increasing your running frequency. It looks way to low

boing,

If I understand your question correctly, “can I fit in a weekly time trial or is it too much?”

Time trialing at full effort every week would not be a good idea if you are training to improve. If you are in the middle of your racing period and you are only concerned with maintaining, then time trialing every week would be okay.

Normally, after such a hard effort, one needs a couple days of active recovery. Then you need to taper before you time trial at full effort again. This doesn’t leave much time to train unless you wish to overtrain or are not that interested in how you perform in the time trials.

How much running should i be looking to do? and what kind of intensity of sessions can I fit in with my crit and bike interval session without overdoing it. Are steady runs of much benifit?
