Campy veloce cassette gearing cage size?

Hey everyone, trying to find out if switching out my 11-25 veloce cassette for a 13-29 still fit in my short cage veloce derailleur ? and while keeping the same chain ? possible ?
thank you !

P.S. Please , melt snow melt !!

The short cage is not supposed to be used with anything over 25 teeth, I’d recommend getting the medium cage.

Unfortunately, no, you need a long cage for a 29… You can get away with a 26 with the short cage, but no more…

Campy says no. That said, I’ve run 29s on my Chorus and SR 11 speed with no problems and thats a no-no, too. My guess is that adjusting the “B” screw will work, but there’s no guarantee.

I’ve also run 30s with original SRAM Force and Red and D/A7800 and that was a no-no, too.

It will still “work”. The longer cages (medium and long) are for more chain wrap. The location of the upper pulley doesn’t change.

What you will have to watch is cross chaining in the large ring. You can check it carefully on the stand before riding. I’d avoid the upper 3 cogs as you’ll see that the cage is out of travel.

Thank you for the info guys !

+1 on 10-speed Chorus, but I was also running a compact crank. Kinda needed it for 20% pitches
