Campy Cassette Question

Building up a new tri bike and want to go campy this time. Biggest question regards cassette comapatibility w/ current race wheels (Hed tri spokes).
Anyone have an idea if a Campy 10 sp caseette will fit on a ShimNo hub? Also what is up with no lockring on some of the cassettes from Campy?

Thanks,

fal7

American Classic makes 10 speed cassettes that will fit Shimano hubs and work with Campy drivetrain.

.

weird you asked about the lockring today. i received a record cassette from supergo today that advertised no lockring. i was wondering the same thing, and was going to use my old one, but it had one.

TheMonkey,

In fact, you could almost buy two Chorus cassettes for what you are going to pay for one Record cassette.

Campy provides cassette lock rings as part of their wheel sets rather than cassettes. You can buy the cassette lock ring separately. I’d definitely check out the AMClassic conversion cassettes. That’s what I’m using (my road bike is Campy).

the exception being 11-21 or 11-23 cassettes, which come with a special 11t lockring.

It will not fit, but i run a Dura ace 10 rear on my Campy 10 bike and vice-verca. Does a Dura 10 fit on a 9 speed hub. I did the Am classic simano 10 and it wasn’t quite perfect.

all right already… i’m not going to do it again…

by the way, my son has a version of your signature posted in his room. it is a quote by Theodore Roosevelt: “Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those timid spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.”
