That is completely ridiculous.
The shop should be able to order replacement parts, Campy does replacement parts for most items. Yeah, one would think.
Of course, it is obvious that the reason that they rattled loose is because they are campy. Wouldn’t have happened if you used Shimano 
I’ve been waiting for that. My answer is that Campy must not stock these parts since the only time stuff goes wrong must be user error.
