Camerons New Ride

Has anyone checked out Cameron Browns new ride (www.cameronbrown.co.nz), seems he is on Scott now? I checked out the scott website and couldnt see a time trial bike? Is scott better than litespeed? for ironman? the scott is meant to be an awesome ride but can you get the right position on a standard geometry bike?

Kinda old news…

Scott has a new TT bike which is the lightest production TT frame on the pro tour…whether CB will use it is a totally different issue. I imagine he’ll ride a custom rig.

Are they better? I don’t think any bike is “better” than a Litespeed…

But, I bet CB knows the word “cha-ching”

That is a CR1 in the photo with him…super light. With Record and Hyperions I would bet 13-14lbs.

I’m pretty sure that that Scott “Time Trial” frame at the tour was just a CR1 with aerobars. It would be cool if it was a genuine special carbon TT bike though.

Here is what he could be riding it things go his way with Scott. Scott claims lightest TT bike

Scott is claiming that as well as being easily built into a sub-6.8kg road bike, its featherweight CR1 carbon fiber frame is also breaking records for the lightest time trial bike ever weighed by the UCI.

At the prologue of the Giro d’Italia on Saturday, UCI commissaire’s were checking bike weights, as they usually do, and found that most of the TT bikes about to roll out for the 1,150m dash down the Lungomare Italo Falcomata’ were over 8kg. The bike of Saunier Duval-Prodir rider Juan Manuel Garate tipped the scales at just 7.4kg, according to Scott.

I bet a R2.5 bayonne set up for TTs would be more aero and lighter:)
.

On a nearly dead flat 1.5km TT course, with massive crowds on both sides to block any wind and bike speeds around 60kmh…Scott thinks they impress me with having the LIGHTEST TT bike!!!

Give me Basso’s “heavy” P3C almost ANY DAY over the Scott CR1 for a TT bike. I’ll take the CR1 for an Alpe d’Huez-like mountain TT…but that’s about it.
