Camelback flashflo

I need some help with hydration on my long runs. I currently use a waterbottle holder that wraps around my waist. Can’t think of the brand right now. Problem is that the bottle usually leaks energy drink all over my back- all bottles leak a little- and one bottle usually isn’t enough. Stashing bottles along my route is not always an option. Neither are drinking fountains. I’m considering the camelback flashflo and would like feedback. I like the amount of liquid it can hold and the idea that it may not leak Cytomax all over my back.

Thanks,

Mike

I used to use one of these and it worked relatively well. It did get hot during the summer. It does sit well on your lower back though and it doesn’t bounce. It also has 2 pockets which are good for carrying a gel, keys, etc. The only drawback is that you need to make sure you keep it clean. The bladder can get nasty in a hurry if you leave energy drink/gatorade in it

I love mine. I only use it on long runs of 1.5+ hours since otherwise a single bottle works fine for me. It’s comfortable and easy to drink from. I agree with Mcombs though - make sure you clean it out thoroughly right away if you use sport drink in it. It holds enough liquid for really long runs. Definitely worth the money.

I have a FlashFlo and have been pretty happy with it. Sometimes, when full (45 oz), it is a bit too much wieght around the hips for my liking, and can dig into me a little bit. I was at REI today, and saw that they have another model, called the Catalyst, that may be more suitable for running because all of its contact points are soft microfleece, and it is a smaller pack (less weight to carry). The downside is that it only holds 28 oz - but I may pick one up, 'cuz I’ve often thought that the Flashflo is a little bit more than I need.
