Calling all New Englanders: No OLN = No Tour

i just spoke to comcast cable and unless there is enough demand, there will be no OLN/Tour this year. last year was an exception because lance was promoting comcast as a spokesperson, but no go this year.

i’m not sure the geographic nuances of cable provisioning, but if you are in the northeast, please make the call and have the rep put in your request: 888-633-4266.

Just tell them you will be getting a dish.

i switched to a dish about 6 weeks ago simply to make sure i could watch the tour. theres more channels and its the same price. been watching the spring classics on oln. its well worth the switch. just my two cents.

its a simple process too, i just called up directv and they came out two days later…boom. it was in…

so far the only problem ive had is that i lost reception in a heavy rain storm the other night, but other than that its fine.

Thank you for writing.

Currently, we are unable to provide information on the availability of

OLN for the Tour de France. We are making every attempt to have OLN

available before July 3rd (when the tour starts) so that the entire Tour

de France is available to our customers. We will have updated

information on this in early June.

If you have any future questions or problems, please feel free to email

us again. When replying to this address, please include this message as

well as all previous correspondence regarding this issue.

Sincerely,

Comcast Electronic Customer Care

Here was my response. Everyone please continue to hound comcast.

Thank you for writing.

We will send your request to have OLN added to your Town’s lineup to the
appropriate managerial team for consideration. As for plans to add it
for the Tour, we are still awaiting details, but we do hope to make it
available for the race. You can feel free to email back in the second
half of June when we anticipate knowing whether it will be added
temporarily, and on what channel.

I switched to a Directv dish with Tivo a few months ago, and all I can say is “why the hell did I wait so long!” Far better service, channel lineup, and signal quality. Get a dish- you won’t regret it.

I have had both digital comcast and a dish and the picture quality doesn’t compare. The dishes have way better picture, i think mainly because the signal doesn’t go through as many waypoints but really I have no clue. If it weren’t for the fact I’m in a northern facing aparment, I would probably get a dish again.
