Welcome to the most epic failure in motion of green energy/mass transit bullshit that no-one, except The Great Mojozenaster is comfortable talking about.
I have railed (smiley face) against this massive fraud from the beginning. And, exactly as I predicted it is going to suck worse than I ever imagined + The first trains won’t roll (by todays metrics) until 2033!!
22 years from now.
The projected cost has tripled in the last 3 years to $100 billion and not an inch of new track has been laid
California High Speed Rail will never happen.
But they will have ‘focus group’ luncheons where you can get a free meal
Oh boy, here we go. Where do I start? Today is the day they just came out with their “business plan.” How can you have a business plan when you don’t have a route yet? How do you plan on starting next year when you don’t have a route. They have not started on appraisal or acquisitions. Oh yeah, the price already doubled. What a fucking joke.
Dude, it’s one of those situations (for me) where I don’t know whether to laugh or cry… because of all the money used/wasted by CAHSRA that have nothing to do with anything but weekend retreats/brainstorming sessions in La Jolla, paying consultants for studies. attorney fees, etc, etc, etc
Mark my words, bookmark this post. This is the costliest infrastructure project in American History and there will never be anything to show for it but absolute failure
I should be in favor of it. it will be a full employment act for my business (eminent domain). But as a taxpayer, lifetime resident of CA and a practical person, I just can’t get behind something this ill conceived. The route goes right through my town knocks out thousand of acres of farmland, one airport, 20% of Fresno’s industrial base etc etc. In the meantime our highway are all undersized and rotting.
And the feds have already chipped in a bit of dollars for the study!! Thanks taxpayers…
“Hey honey, lets get on that there high speed train down in fresno for a fast ride up to cochran to see our convict gang bangin son”
Looks like the first places it will go to is all the shitty places like fresno, bakersfield, etc…central valley area…it will be completed in 2033 when the final leg from LA to SD is finished…
You Californians that voted for this crapola, FUCK OFF and go back to Jersey you turds! And take your union bitches with you!
all the prime farmland covered with solar panels
-a bullet train down the middle so SF politicans can ride in style to check their panels, look for any bugs or shrubs in danger, then be home by lunch hour.
This State is like a bad dream that plays out right before your eyes. It would be great, prosperous and fair again for all if not for liberals and democrats.
Isnt HSR a joke everywhere government officials try to push it? When I lived in FL there was a big push for a HSR from Orlando to FL. Although it would get some riders the cost would be astronomical and it would be nothing more than a money sink. If only people looked at the toll road authority in the area they would realize that even if the costs to build and run it weren’t already out of whack, people( public officials) would get their greedy hands in it and tax payers would shoulder the burden.
Isnt HSR a joke everywhere government officials try to push it?
In this country it’s a joke and it does not only apply to High Speed Rail. The MTA (LA) is paying a huge breach of contract judgment to an Italian manufacturer of railcars, at Taxpayer expense, but you won’t read about that anywhere…
To the ‘Meat’ of it, CAHSR is a joke, it is worse than Solyndra because it is an economic trainwreck (DIG IT!!) unfolding before our very eyes.
It is never going to get off the ground.
The first trains were supposed to roll in 2020 for a lot less than $100 Billion…now it’s 2033…
In writing this post, The Great Mojozenmaster suddenly understands democrats and liberals better:
“It does not matter that the outcome is a disaster, so long as the theory had good intentions”
**Mojozenmaster **
doubled? I thought I read in the CoCoCo times that it had tripled. When we voted, I thought it was low $30bln. In the “business plan” they unleashed on us today it is up to $100bln.
The one comment that I really enjoyed was when it mentioned how the ticket price was going to be pegged to the cost of an airline ticket…in 2024. I can’t figure out how much my flight to LA is going to be in three week (nor can the airlines), how can CAHSRA figure it out 14 years in advance???
