When you install the BB, you’re supposed to place the wires at 9 o’clock (looking from the left handside etc etc)
Mine is probably 5 degrees of the 270 degree mark, how much will that influence the readings? I did calibrate it afterwards, got the message Adjustment OK,
Had it out for a spin yesterday, the power readings seemed reasonable. I haven’t uploaded the readings yet, so I can’t give an answer about the avg.
But will those couple of degrees matter? I hope not, cause I can’t remove my crank now , its stuck.
I think the instructions indicate anywhere from 9 to 11 o’clock is fine. Are you at 275 or 265?
The “calibration” you did afterwards is called an “offset” which you’ll have to do periodically. The offset may change fairly dramatically for the first few rides, but will then settle into a tight range.
The install manual actually gives a range of something like 240 to 330. Mine is sitting right at the upper end of that range (330). I had no luck getting to 270 with any of the provided spacers so I left it there and have had no problems. Proper frame prep and install torque are probably significantly more important.
Yeah mines probably at around 265. As for using a torque wrench…hmmm I used upper body muscle hehe. I might have gone alittle over the recommended Nm, but the bottombracket “hole” is Al not carbon so hopefully I’m in the clear.
I tried removing the cranks too use a torque wrench, but like I said they are stuck. I even tried using a crank pull tool…I’m gonna have to go to the LBS here and ask them.
I’ll remember to calibrate the offset regularly during the first couple of rides.
