I have had in line adjusters on my road bikes as of late that didn’t have threads on the shifter bosses for barrel adjusters. My poop head forgot to think about this as I build up my CAAD8 and I just saw they are not threaded…doooooh(Homer).
Anyone tried a home made fix to use threaded barrel adjusters in a smooth shifter boss? Thanks…I have a feeling I will make my annual pilgrimage to the LBS for a 4x overpriced set of Jagwire in line adjusters:(
jagwire sells threaded assemblies that fit the cannondale bosses.
I’m sorry I worded that incorrectly. The bosses on the CAAD8 are smooth on the inside so they won’t take a standard threaded barrel adjuster on the frame. As I peruse the Jagwire site I only see threaded adjusters…or am I looking in the wrong spot. It’s not the end of the world if I don’t have them, but there were some times on my Soloist when I would have preferred not to pull over to adjust my derailleur and done it on the fly…thanks if you can provide a link or anything…
I have a Cannondale so I know how they are configured. I’'l see if I can find a link.
These will work. They press in the CD bosses or into the Shimano STI shifters. At least with the bosses you may need to put a dap of rubber cement. Without the cement they work but once the threaded get a bit gunked up with Gu, snot and gatoraid they will start to spin in the boss instead of unscrewing. http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/CA505Z00-Jagwire+Rocket++Ii+Adjusters.aspx
