Buying running shoes on line

Looking for recommended sites please

Try roadrunnersports.com. They have a big selection, frequent sales, offer closeouts on last year’s shoes and have “classic” shoes that you can’t find elsewhere. They have a liberal return policy and a special “club” which gives you an extra discount and even lets you try out and return used shoes if you don’t like them. The club is worth it if you buy lots of shoes a year or want to buy shoes for your entire family or combine orders with friends. That being said, I still try to support my local running store.

I now buy all my shos here also http://www.roadrunnersports.com. Its worth being a member and I also know no where else where you can try a pair and still send them back(though I never had to)

Just to add - Roadrunnersports club regular club discount is 5%, aftrer you’ve been a member a while they’ll offer you VIP status, worth another 5% off. well worth the 20 bones if you’re buying shoes every 6-ish months. when you join the Run America Club (RAC) you also get up to 30 days to return shoes and one free shipping return label.

I had been going to a local stores in Raliegh (InsideOut or the NB Raliegh store) before we moved out here to Kansas, so I went to the local New Balance store in Kansas City ready to replace both my 1022s, 831s, and possibly pick up some sandals. For being a supposed Concept store specializing in NB shoes they had two things in abundance… Jack and squat… Came home and dropped $200 at roadrunner. anyway enough of that.

Online shoe purchasing works well if you know exactly what you want/need.

If you wear New Balance try this: 1-866-623-6245 the NB factory direct line. If they have the style and size you’re looking for, their usually 20-230% cheaper than anywhere else.

I go to our local running stores such as Randy Step’s Running Fit or Karen Holopa’s Tortoise N’ Hare. If they do not have what I need (some types of trail shoes or adventure racing shoes) I get them from roadrunnersports.com or directly from the manufacturer if they do online sales, which they all should.

as already stated, roadrunnersports.com. I think they are the best, or as good as any, mailorder, regardless of industry, that I deal with. If you have the size already pegged, it is a smooth transaction.

ebay

Perfect for me. Always new, low prices, never any problem.

Frank

Kelly’s Running Warehouse! They carry the same stock as Road Runner Sports, but they don’t have the rediculously expensive shipping costs that RRS has (Kelly’s shipping is FREE). RRS has a by the item shipping charge instead of by the weight. They charged me $11 shipping for a singlet, so I have never and will never oder from them again.

I like roadrunnersports.

I’ve found two other vendors that sell a variety of outdoor stuff at “outlet” prices: Campmor and Sierra Trading Post. Neither specializes in running gear, but have a lot of good quality outerwear and stuff like that which could be adapted for use in running.
