Hi! Im about to buy a new Canyon Speedmax CF SLX bike. I just realized the new Ultegra Di2 group was launch a couple of months ago. In their website they still have the old version in the specs. I have an IM in nov, should I wait a couple of months to see if they update the specs to the new Ultegra or I rather buy it once with what is available? Thanks!
What’s the lead time for delivery?
I would contact Canyon directly and ask them when they will have the new Ultegra. Then, as supporting information, I would do the same with a few others. Then, take the later date of either the majority opinion or Canyon. Nobody here knows.
Or go Etap… love the design of the system, wireless shifting and modular batteries on the derailleurs.
I would love that! But they dont have that option!
Speed Concept? They have Di2 and eTap. Tour magazine tested the Canyon and it wasn’t exactly impressive compared to a P5
I’d consider an old p5 or speed concept 7 with top groupset/wheels/power for sure. That would make you just as fast or faster (and maybe save you some money). The canyons have a “cool” factor for sure, especially if you are in the US. I live in London and see a ton of them around so doesn’t really standout as much. I have a SC 9 gen 2 / di2 / quarq / zipp 808 and its not the lightest with bottles but on the flats, it absolutely flies. Just keeps up the speed so well. Relatively easy to work on the bike as well. Front end fixes don’t take very long and if I had e tap it would be cleaner.
