Butterfly exit in open water - Olympics

Just was wondering, did anyone notice when a lot of the athletes exited the water in Athens they covered the last 50m or so doing a sort of exagerated butterfly stroke, does anyone know the reason for this?

they were actually doing dolphin dives. when they get to a point where the water is only waist deep, they start to stand up and dive forwards. its a trick learnt from surf lifesaving and its alot faster (but harder too) than swimming all the way in or trying to run in.

Like ?

ahhhhhhhhh i see i will try this when i get back in the sea next year, so what are these other nifty tricks then?
