I was trying to imagine how a concession speech coming from the Bush/Cheney ticket would sound. I’m not saying this will happen by any means, or even that it should, but can anyone get a clear picture of how this would sound? Something like:
“That’s it, you’re all screwed. I’ll be in Texas watching the news when the first nuke goes off in D.C.”
or
“I’d like to congratulate my flip-flopping, French-looking, Nancy-boy opponent on his unbelievable win”
or
“Bring out the lawyers! This ain’t over yet! Yeehaw!”
I just have a hard time picturing Pres Bush or VP Cheney as gracious losers, but maybe that’s because I haven’t seen either of them lose anything.
(Don’t bother replying with some lame post about how I “hate Bush” because that’s not the issue, and it’s not true)
It will be interesting. I think we can expect that the Dims will challenge the results if they lose, but I’d hope the Repellicans would accept whatever skullduggery the Dims are able to pull off.
I picture this like an old west poker game where two guys end up holding three aces. I expect lots of cheating - dead people and illegals voting, folks voting in two states (mostly NY and FL). Then when it’s over, a repeat of last time where Gore knows he cheated so he really should have won, but maybe Bush out-cheated him!
You misjudge the man. Bush would be a very gracious loser. I just hope I don’t get the chance to be proven right.
My bet is that if it is close, neither side will concede. If the result, popular and electoral is more than a couple of points in favor of either one, the loser will concede.
As for skullduggery, latest update in Colorado says that in many counties the number of registered voters is DOUBLE the number of eligible voters. Who ever said that a good thing should only be limited to Chicago???
