I have been working busily away at the Campy Delta covers in carbon. I almost have perfect examples coming from the moulds, requiring little finish work.
I am now going to work on the bike, one that will go into a suitcase and be full-sized, as well. I am going to do some fun geometrical stuff to the frame, along with a radical design. I might use a very interesting core material…
My accountant also informed me that I need to actually sell stuff to write off the purchase of carbon and epoxy, so look to the classifieds for my post for information concerning both rejects and usable covers. I think the rejects could have various uses, including Christmas tree ornaments.
I admit I had e mailed him on how he did it. I took what he had told me, applied my own principals, and vioila, my own, unique process emerged. I will say that the idea was hardly original, though it was toyed with in my head for awhile. I have examples weighing eight grams, the aluminum cover weighs 16 grams. I am looking to make the business legit (for the accountants), so without giving away some of the radical ideas for other things, this is how I can make a bit of money for the business. My goal was to make these for people who are not willing to do it themselves, and to use up excess cloth and epoxy whilst working on the other projects. I am merely offering pieces of the Bunnyman Institute history for sale, as these will sell for a ridiculous price (not much profit).
I just wish that I could get a hold of the SRP bolt kit he had gotten a hold of, as he lightened the thing by a good couple of hundred grams.
