What started out as a quite portly water bottle carrier for behind the saddle is shaping up to something quite interesting. Weighing this next to the most important component of the Minoura system nets a weight loss of 25 grams compared to the Minoura part. The rail bracket is going to be about 36 grams lighter than the Minoura one (yes, these should be ready in about three weeks), and after I bond on a pair of carbon cages, it should be just under 175 grams for the entire system!
I will say that for right now, this system will NOT be available to anyone except for pro riders who will be testing it.
Update on the brackets: I am merely waiting for the laminate that I have chosen to use and my threaded bosses. These clamp brackets will come with M5 X 20mm cap-head stainless steel bolts to replace the button-head allen bolts that came with the Minoura.
