Bunnyman I have a project for you to consider. (not do, just think about it) I have scoliois, (curvature of the spine) and my shoulders are not even, one is about 2 inchs lower than the other. Currently I have my Carbon Stryke aero bars off set, one extended out farther than the other. This greatly relieved some hand numbness and shoulder pain that I had on my last bike. The problem is that when I am on the base bars I still get these problems. Any way to make the right horn on my base bar about 2 inches longer? I would need this for group rides and change ups on longer (100+) training rides.
what base bars are you using?
One option would be to trim the left bullhorn 2 inches.

My base bars are stock Cervelo, I don’t want to cut the left side because it fits good, and my stem is about as short as I can get because the scoliois causes me to have an extremely short torso (5’8" on a size 48 frame)
.
If you trim the left side, you can compensate by using a longer stem and also bringing back the aerobar extensions by the same distance as the increase in stem length.
You may not even need to trim the bar, just grip the left side further back than the right.

Doh!, had a Homer moment.
just grip the left side further back than the right.
Tried that before, makes me wobbly, and is uncomfortable for some reason.

Try it after putting a longer stem on. You might be OK. if not, trimming the left / extending the right will probably not help either. You may need to try, somehow, aligning the bars so they are slightly off centre and angled. I haven’t thought through that idea fully, so attempt at your own risk.
On yesterday’s ride i was trying to be low-key staying out of aero and spinning at 15mph for some base training. Ended up with the left hand back slightly and having just the outside edge of my right palm on the brake hood, anything else and the hand started to go to sleep. May have to have Tom look at my position again when he gets back.

While these suggestions are good, I would need to see exactly how your hand is out of alignment when on the horns. This would probably be the best way to start getting answers.
Doug, until the SO left for australia I didn’t realize how much I depended on her being available.
I will try to get some pictures posted, but, I actually have to ask a friend to come over to take them. In the mean time I have measured my arm length discrepanecy. My left hand fingertips come to the second knuckle on my right hand. Pictueres forth coming if Hid will oblige? Will shoot pictures of me standing off the bike, then on the bike picture to compare. I am thinking that a custom base bar wil be the final answer.
