That is hilarious.

It shows 2 things. That a porcupine can defend itself pretty well, and that bully dogs are pretty much indestructible. A lab would have been outta there after the 1st quill. This guy kept going.

that’s just hard to see!

man, that’s gotta hurt.

Hard to say without seeing what happened to the porcupine.

Aww, poor puppy. That’ll teach him to mess w/ a porky.

RE: Lab would run after getting one quill. You need to meet my parents chocolate labs!! Stupid dogs have tussled w/ a porcupine 2x.

The last time (May long weekend), we had to take one to the vet to be sedated to get the quills out of her mouth, paws, face etc.

Not quite as bad as the dog pictured though!

Oh good lord. That creeps me out. I hope the dog is OK.

Where’s the dog? I just see a porcupine!

I hope the dog is OK.
Heh…I had the same thought, but for the porcupine…

I’m worried about the porcupine, too. I see blood on Fido’s mouth, and I don’t think a porcupine can throw that many quills.
He has my respect.

I’m guessing that there are 437 quills in that dog.

Even smart dogs are dumb about some things.

Mrs. Vitus gave her dog Yoshimo a bath yesterday afternoon. Guess what happened last night? Yoshimo got herself sprayed by a skunk in our yard. Fantastic timing. It’s the third time she’s been sprayed. I don’t understand how you don’t learn that lesson the first time.

Frank: Is that your terrier in the picture? If so, how is he?

Snopes link.

AFAIK, the only animal that can successfully kill a porcupine is a fisher. Ironically, my brother’s Siberian Husky once killed a fisher but got quilled badly another time by a porcupine.

My golden retreiver, now deceased, was quilled twice but not badly. The other day I was running on the trail with my black lab and we saw a porcupine. My black lab started trotting towards the porcupine, but stopped immediately when I called him. Smart dog my black lab and without a mean bone in his body.

Bull terriers are the retards of the dog world IMO.

No, not my dog.
I have a Rottweiler.
