I got tired of having to run down to the LBS every time I was working on bikes. To save some cash, I thought I would buy a bunch of cables in bulk and re-sell all the extra.

So, right now I have:
60 Jagwire galvanized derailleur cables

70 Jagwire galvanized mountain bike style brake cables

I bought them in boxes of 100, but they are probably the same as these:

I haven’t spotted a good deal on bulk road brake cables yet. If anybody knows of a good deal, I might be interested in buying and re-selling the extras.

Are they standard length, or long enough to reach the RD from the end of an aero bar on a larger (58+) frame? I usually end up having to ask my LBS for ‘tandem’ length so I have a little extra to work with…

Cables are all standard length. You’re right if it is a large frame with large aerobars they sometimes won’t reach.

Do the brake cables have barrel ends or standard ends?
The picture of the cable in the brake cable link shows a cable with barrel and standard ends, where I think you cut off the one you don’t need.

OK, if that is the case, not exactly like the picture. The brake cables only have one mountain bike end (I guess I would call that a barrel). These will work on some aero brake levers, but not STI.

Cool, but do you have any housings?

Nope, haven’t been able to find any at a great deal. Bought some for myself from Pricepoint.com. They had about the best prices I could find, ebay included.

Still lots of the mtn brake cables left, fewer of the derailleur. Keeping my eye out for a bulk road brake cable purchase, but haven’t seen anything great yet.
