Buh bump and Skeeter

OK, I know, sounds strange.

Two topics:

  1. early AM race/riding, always have trouble with my Polar HRM transmitter getting the tranmission to the watch, use spit to improve conductivity, but lately this is spotty in performance. Looking at Buh Bump http://www.nashbar.com/results.cfm?brand=5138&init=y, anyone have a review of this stuff?

  2. considering using the 35 oz Camelbak Skeeter insert, without the pack itself, and cooling it prior to a hot 40k TT, then slip just the reservoir down my back, under my skinsuit. Has anyone tried this? Got the idead frmo Dylan Casey and his 2002 Nats TT win, which he used a Camelbak 50 oz insert to win it. http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=&subcategory=&brand=&sku=10675&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=

thanks

For number one I use spit.

I use the buh-bump and have had no problems picking up a signal. Just use a dab so the stuff lasts forever.

How old is your HRM transmitter, you might need a battery.

Andrew

Its a new model, I have had this problem with several different units that I have

Thanks for the info
.

#1: I used spit, had a few workouts where the signal was lost, started using Buh Bump, and haven’t had a problem since (over a year now). What they say on the side of the Buh Bump bottle is true: “Works and smells better than spit!”

buh-bump works fine but is relatively expensive. There is a medical supply store next to my office bldg, I went in and asked for electrode cream and the lady gave me a huge squeeze bottle of it for < $10.
