Looks like it must have been an awesome finish for the men!

And congrats to Mrs. ShawnF!!! Nice job!!! Results are 100% updated but it looks like she look 7th.

EDIT: for updated results

I think that may have been the splits off the bike.
These look like finish times

what is up with some of the swim times? My buddy who swam in college splited a 48 min swim! NO WAY!

Is that from the pro head start or something?

You’re right… they’re 1/2 way updated on the site now. I’ll repost as soon as it’s fixed.

And I think that course is typically considered ‘short.’
.

It looks like they didn’t account for the time between waves. So the swim times are from the pro start.

Actually, the more I look at these results as they come in on Ironmanlive, I am frustrated. It is nearly impossible to tell what people’s real splits are. Not that I’m surprised, the technology they use disappoints on a regular basis.

was it a 10 or 15 min. headstart?

The waves went off in 5 minute increments. So it depends on the age group you are looking at. Lame!

Man, those are some fast times for the men for 2 years in a row now. Wow! Either the swim is severely short again like last year or the weather was fantastic compared to the historic norms like last year.

ok, thanks. I was thinking he had a serious problem or something!

I had the same thoughts! I does look, however, that final times have been adjusted for the wave starts. My brain doesn’t like to do math on the weekends, though, so I’m not positive

Anybody know what the story is with Melissa Ashton? She beat Natascha by 16 minutes? In the actual textual race coverage, they don’t even mention her - and they have the other women as being 1st - 3rd instead of 2nd - 4th…

If you look her up individually you’ll . see that she doesn’t have a swim time listed and her bike was a 2:30. Too fast to have her bike and swim time mixed togethor. Once they add in a swim time (25 to 29 minutes) she’ll slip down the standings.

any word as to what happened to desiree? she got smoked on every leg, including the run.

T-Racer had a great day, setting personal bests in the swim, bike, and run (4th fastest) and finished as the top AGer and 6th overall, just 30secs behind Desiree. As you can imagine, she is bouncing off the walls right now. Everything just really came together, as she was hoping…must be the coaching ; )

The weather stayed pretty cool until the run. It was overcast on the bike, but the sun came out and it warmed up fast during the run. Legh looked great, as did Carfrae. She made up something like 14mins on the run on Natasha.

More is more!!

I have Ashton’s time in about 4:34, one place in front of Desiree.

That’s awesome! Congrats to her!!

You can’t say enough for great coaching… but I’m sure living at altitude doesn’t hurt either!!

Wish I coulda been there this year… maybe next year.

That’s an awesome race for her!!! Congrats!

I was wondering the same thing. She wasn’t even mentioned in the coverage until near the end of the race, I wasn’t sure whether or not she showed up.
