I tend to spend a week at a time in Buffalo and stay on Grand Island(that holiday Inn). for an out of towner, this is a nice, simple location to train after or before work. If I decided to stay in Rochester/Victor, what would you recommend in this area to come out of a hotel and be able to ride/run and not get lost and deal with roads not conducive to riding ? Prefer Holiday Inns if possible
There is a Holiday Inn Express in Victor that is a few miles from Mendon Pond Park which is a nice place to run and bike.
If you stay in Victor you have access to some flat trails for running or cyclocross riding (Lehigh Valley Trail and Auburn Trails are less than a mile away). If you bring your MTB you can go to Dryer Rd. Park and hit some decent trails. Mendon Ponds Park also has trails and lots of people train there as the other poster said. If you want some hills you can head down towards Canandaigua Lake and ride Bopple Hill, Gannett Hill, Miller Hill and/or go completely around the lake 48ish miles.
If I publicly reply YES, do know the how big the flood gates will be. Next time PM a rep with a request like this. I’ll look
Damn that’s a good point I hadn’t fully considered. In that case, for all official purposes, let’s pretend this never occurred
The bike club in rochester has races on this course in victor:

it’s a nice area to ride. There are hotels right there at the thruway exit including holiday inn and mariott, this one is just n of the exit, you cross the busy road and can go ride out valentown rd, or like the other person said mendon ponds park is very nice for road or trail running and cycling

I don’t know where you work in Buffalo, but there is a newish hotel in East Aurora which is maybe 25 mins from downtown and is very nice hilly riding, small town, etc. Nice trail running nearby and good roads too.
