Broken SRAM Carbon TT Shifters

My FD shifter broke. The internal plastic projection that stops the 0 and 60 degree washer piece to limit the shifter motion is completely rubbed down, so now the shifter moves all over the place. It still “works” - but I have to crank up the friction by tightening the bolt so the tension on the FD cable doesn’t pull the shifter when I’m not trying to shift, which makes actually shifting more difficult.

I purchased the shifters online (eBay) so I’m not sure I have any pull with a warranty. Does anyone have any suggestions? Can I contact SRAM for a replacement left TT shifter? The shifters are less than 3 months old…

Here is an idea. If you have a local bike shop buddy , see if they can call in a rma(return merchandise authorization) and you mail it back.

Can a shop do this even if they don’t carry or stock SRAM parts?

That’s what you get for using the small ring…

The odds are your shop carries SRAM if only to get replacement grip shifters for repairs. The real question is why you didnt go to your LBS to begin with (answer: money). Since you didnt buy it though a LBS contact SRAM directly, if they say it needs to be sent back through a shop, go to your LBS (with whom I hope you have a good relationship) and very nicely ask them for help.

Well put.

Just tighten your limit screw to keep the derailleur in the big ring
