yes…there are worse things in this world to complain about, but my question is WHY??? last year the turn buoys were the same color orange. Let’s hope for yellow buoys.

I can never work that stuff out either…Who makes these decisions?
I for one think it is a good idea. Each wave should have a neon colored easy to see swim cap. Just might make the difference.
I never understood why there would be dark colored caps in the water.
All swim caps should be bright colors. After all, they are not for seeing swimmers, they help find the body during the recovery.
1st world problems Spicoli. I hate those.
Well yes I was thinking that also .

Agreed. But please, please (to any RDs out there) do not make the neon colored swim cap the same colors as the turn buoys. There are a plethora of other colors to use. Clash.
Water is very close to black when viewed from a boat or shore. What shows up best on this is white. For visibility purposes I’ve always hated the default black color of wetsuits. About the only time I can think it’s useful is in cold water on a sunny day when the dark color would capture more heat.
First world problems…love that Kurt. Ok…just did the warm up swim and I now have something more pressing to bitch about…,10 tiny jellyfish welts on my upper torso. But hey…I have food, water and shelter going for me right?
No you have hydration, Nutrition and shelter going for you. Good luck, damn I hate jelly fish!

Uhm… Whitecaps? Ever hear of those? I mean the white foamy things on top of waves when there’s wind? White would be one of the worst choices for swim cap color IMHO.
Any chance at all you can respond without being condescending?
You’re way braver than I am …I don’t swim when there are whitecaps on the waves. Also, any races I’ve been to around here where whitecaps where evident were changed to duathlons by the RD.

No, sorry. It’s a neurological problem. They’re seeing what they can do to fix it.

Really? They cancel the swim when there’s any whitecaps there? Whitecaps typically show up at around 10 knots, and there are parts of the world where you couldn’t organize a tri ever if that’s your cutoff.
IMC had dark blue caps. Couldn’t see anyone most of the swim.
