For those of you knowledgeable of Brezza II adjustment, is there a way to adjust the position of pads further aft. Is there a kit that allows that.
I maybe replacing my Vision set up with it and have a set position. It appears that the pads on Vision bar sit further aft than with Brezza II. Shorter stem is not an option, already short.
I am confident that I can arrive at the same pad stack that I have now, just not sure on the pad reach. Thanks.
You can either continue to use your existing aerobar clamp and ignore the two top holes for pad mounting or they make a replacement aero extension only clamp that lacks the top holes.
If you could post pics of that setup once you have them installed that would be amazing, thanks.
It’s not that difficult, the first link you sent are the correct pieces for adding fore aft adjustable pads. The photo is upside down but those double machine bolts shown facing down in the image are for mounting the pad holders. The clamps in the second link can be used in conjunction with the former clamps or for Mistral style 3T aero bars where the pads mount directly to the base bars but aren’t strictly necessary if you want to use the existing aero bar extension clamps (which have the pad holder bolt drillings on the top side) that came with the Brezza bars.
If you could post pics of that setup once you have them installed that would be amazing, thanks.
Thank you. I think your first link is the part I am looking for. My fitter attempted to locate this part in US. He could not find it. He indicated that it is likely a direct order from 3T site and may even ship from Italy. Will see. In either case, this is what I got exactly and this is how I will take it step by step with the bike fitter:
I have been Retuled few weeks ago and we tweaked my position a bit for better. Since I have gone too far down and closed the hip angle, few things had to get adjusted to return to Retul acceptable ranges.
I have E112 size S, 70mm/+10 degree stem, up turned, VIsion base bar+ vision ski tip extensions, 25mm spacers on the pads. What is typical of this set up is where pads sit for/aft relative to stem clamp horizontal axis. They sit a bit aft, as opposed to Brezza II where the aft edge of the pads sits nearly on the axis. I don’t know the difference in fore aft position but may have to use above kit to normalize that value.
Will run some stem calculators as I want a down turned stem, 3T is ok, 70mm/-6 dgrees, that changes the pad location, lower and further forward
Brezza II has a higher initial pad stack than Vision with spacers, Vision pad stack is 25mm, Brezza II, no kit 35mm, now I can add pad stack with 10mm or 20mm spacer kit from 3T.
Than we will look at the pad reach and decide on the kit or not, going from 70mm/+10 to 70mm/-6 increases the reach by 6.5mm, I have to factor that in on top of the fact the we are going up on the pad spacers, so once I dial in the height, we will decide if and how much we have to go back with pads. So in summary, Brezza II starts with pads further forward than Vision+ I am going forward by lowering the stem to -6 degrees…likely I will need to bring the pads back with that kit above. I did not mention that saddle is all the way forward, I have to preserve the hip angle… the relative position to BB and pads have to have a drop of 13.5cm…
One thing that may be worth mentioning. I needed to reduce pad distance by about 2cms. I swapped out the original Brezza pads for the Ventus Comfort pads. These are a lot larger, adding a further 2cms (maybe a touch more) of pad the rider side; effectively reducing the reach by 2.5cms with a pad that is a 100% more comfortable. You don’t lose any pad further forward, the Ventus pad starts at the same place as the Brezza original pad but extends further towards the rider.
That said the new Ventus pads and cradles will cost more than the clamp you are looking at. But the comfort is worth it, for me anyway.
Thank you. Another very helpful insight. I will for sure go that road. Comfort means a lot and if it solves the reach issue, it is no brainer. I looked at the pictures on 3T and it may solve the reach issue.
