If the allegations given in court are true, it was, in my opinion, much worse than consensual sex between an 18 y.o. and a 14 y.o. E.g. the underground car park allegation - recounted here. - search for the term “She tried to lift her head,” to find the spot. That would be rape regardless of age. And it would be extreme abuse of a coach-athlete relationship. Combine that with his lying and denial until he was caught on tape by the police, and it’s not a story of forbidden teenage love, in my opinion.
