ST Posse,
Any suggestions for lightweight rain gear that is still breathable? For some reason, whenever I stay out and get soaked, even if it’s warm out (I live in FL), I get a chest cold. Looking for gear for both bike and run.
Thanks

Haven’t used it yet but this stuff is supposed to be great: Showerspass
.
I use a showers pass jacket. Works great, but that said if its much warmer than 50 and I’m working hard I’m going to sweat enough with it on that I’ll be soaked anyways. My best solutionfor long wet rides in variable temps is a thin wool long sleeve layer (stays relatively warm when wet), a short sleeve jersey with a long zipper, and the light SP jacket. As temp rain and sweatrate varies you have to be ligent in opening and closing zippers and taking the jacket off and on so you don’t geyt too wet from either rain or sweat. Much above 65F and rainy, I just live with bering wet, as long as I’m warm.

I have the ShowersPass eVENT jacket and like it very much. When I bought it was was just called the “eVENT Jacket” but now I think it’s called the “Elite 2.0”.
If you are looking for truly waterproof, anything made out of eVENT is going to be the most breathable material you can find. Significantly more breathable than Goretex.
