Just on the news. No names or teams named yet.
control taken after stage 11. any takers on who it was?
Stage 11 was one of the sprint stages, Hunter from Barloworld won. Who gets tested? The jersey holders, stage winners and then some randoms?
As sad is it is to have to say this, I hope it was “only” one of the sprinters and not one of the GC contenders.
correct…that sounds about right
.
Who we know got tested:
Hunter: Stage Winner
Rasmussen: Yellow and polka
Boonen: Green
Contador: White
Plus 4-6 randoms.
Testosterone this time
.
So I guess we will see another TEAM get tossed as well? The ride around the Champs is going to be a lonely one on Sunday.

Name to be released at 9:00EST…My sense is that it’s someone big otherwise they’d simply release the name as the did with Sinkewitz.

Just to make things simplier ETA, the Basque independantist group, has announced they have put a bomb on the course. What next?
So they are going to announce this while all of the teams are out riding for the day? That should be interesting as the news breaks over the radios.
Do we have any guesses on who it is? Hunter won the stage, did Cancellera ride like an animal that day too? Wasn’t that also the day that Astana pushed the pace so much and Moreua and others got dropped?
I guess maybe best case scenario is that it is an Astana guy.
Should be one who is not riding today (if not, maybe they will shoot him out of the peleton). My bet is on an Astana also.
Just heard a report of a small explosion on the Spanish part of the course. Doesn’t sound like it was anywhere near the riders.
Velonews is saying the following riders were tested:
Robert Hunter (stage winner) Michael Rasmussen (yellow jersey) Maxim Iglinskiy Erik Zabel Lilian Jegou Cristian Morini Kim Kirchen Patxi Vila.

I thought you were joking. Seriously, what is next!?
I’m going to go with Patxi Vila because he has the funniest name on the list but it was close with Maxim Iglinskiy.
Wait…isn’t Kirchen on T-Mobile?
Shouldn’t he be the odds on favorite with the other T-Mobile rider also failing a testosterone test?
If so, I say bye-bye to T-Mobile sponsorship.
too bad WADA can’t follow it’s own rules and wait for the B sample to test out before allowing the lab to leak the results.
Shhhhhhhhh! You’re making too much sense aka you’re making a scene!
The lab must be saving money on laser cartridges by just having all results printed directly out at l’equipe…
Wasnt Paxti Vila one of Lando’s henchman in Empire Strikes Back?
