Brake Lever Compatability on Vision Basebar Questions

ST, I would finally like to invest in some low budget return spring brake levers for my alloy Vision basebar- so 3 questions: Will Profile QS2 levers fit the Vision basebar? How about Cane Creek 200TT Alloy or Carbons? Do the alloy 200TT have a return spring?

Thank you for your help in advance,

  • Jeff
    .
  1. I don’t know.
  2. Alloy will. I’ve not tried the carbon ones.
  3. No.
  1. No.

The more I look into this the more confused I get.

1/2 of the adds on ebay say that the 200TT Alloy levers have a reverse spring, 1/2 don’t mention it one way or the other, a google search brings up some online retailers that say that the alloy versions have reverse springs, but Cane Creek’s website fails to mention it one way or the other.

Anyone else have some insight into this?

Thanks in advance,

  • Jeff

After recollecting on the Cane Creek website from a couple of months ago and looking at everything again (pictures, text, ebay, etc.)- it looks like:

a) There is a new design of the alloy 200TT brake levers
b) The new design is identical to the 200TT Carbon levers with the exeption of the actual lever material type
c) The new levers are indeed reverse pull as well
d) Cane Creek has not updated the text on their site from the old alloy lever design, just the pictures

Does anyone have a pair of the new ones or can anyone confirm or deny the above assumptions?

Thanks,

  • Jeff

I’ve used DiaComp and Blackwell, same as Tektro, Cane Creek and a few others. I use the carbon ones with the return springs. They WILL fit into the VT base bar. You may need to remove the sleeve off the expansion bolt but I’ve done this for years and never had a problem.
