I have a rear dura ace brake that the quick release will not work on. I do not seem to be able to take it apart. When I try to open it the cable turns. the thing (?) that holds the cable from turning seems to be broke or out of place. Any suggestions
Not sure I can picture what’s going wrong. Maybe posting a photo would help?
Is the barrel all the way unscrewed?
I have had the same problem - only with DA and not ever with Ultegra.
I drip some lube into the quick release. Then I use a M6 hex wrench to hold the cable fixing bolt in place and move the quick release up and down.
Taking it apart and lubing didn’t seem to help. So try the above trick and don’t try taking it apart - there’s a small bearing in there that you wouldn’t want to loose !
