Boyne to Boyne Mary (Michigan)

Does anybody have any experience with the course for this Mary? I know this is a first year race. 3Disciplines is putting it on and they dont have any elevation profiles up, not even a description of weather it is hilly or flat etc… I know the Petoskey area is mostly hilly just wondering how hilly this one might be??? Looks like it would be a scenic course!

Thanks
Jeff S.

I live in Harbor Springs. I will simply comment on the course.
The route will be quite hilly and frankly, could be quite a tough race- be prepared to go up and down, quite a bit. It will be rather scenic, going along Walloon lake etc. Nice route, but I cant see many people smoking this thing.

As to weather, I believe the race is in late september- so it could be nice, or it could suck ass. I have biked/run in late september in 75-80 degree weather, and have also experienced cold ass rainy weather.

I’d run Freep if you are looking for a qualifier- Detroit puts on a great marathon.

Thanks, I am somewhat conflicted. I like the smaller marathons but also looking for a new PR. I don’t suppose you’ve done the Ann Arbor Tri or Trail Ends Marathon at Pinckney State Park and can compare the course to the Potowatomi Trail?

I have done the poto trail marathon- that was a very hard effort- damn near killed me. I dont think it would be that bad, however, this surely cannot be advertised as a PR course. Simply to hilly-

Dilemmas Dilemmas Dilemmas… Scenic wins over PR and Boston Qualifying.
