Geez. Crazy. Realistically, it was almost only a matter of time. did you see the crowds on the huge 6 pass stage? They were wild.

I just barely saw a clip of this on OLN - it looked very much like accidental contact. That being said, I think that it’s only a matter of time before some idiot actually maliciously goes after a racer.

Perhaps, but if that were to happen, I think the attacker would run a very big risk of getting the $%!t kicked out of him by the crowd. And if it were to happen going up a mountain, there are gendarmes all along the climb.

He wasn’t punched. The spectator was slapping those inflatible noisemaker things together and just happened to slap the rider in the face in the process.

Purely accidental.
