Are we really comparing an ongoing doping investigation to this?
I could be reading this wrong but I think PTN are more calling out T100 on this one. @Kyleglass91 knows Hayden would have won with two left shoes so calling him out is nonsensical.
This is more so on the TO (technical officials) T100 and World Triathlon.
Well shit! I could do that.
You left out Country Music DJ Mike Rossi, and the serial-cheating lady at Disney
#DoubleLetters still rule
I’d have to agree that the punishment is worse than the crime. He should just gather evidence and present it privately to the race directors. If he really has a point, they’ll take action.
Note sure in these times you’re allowed to refer to Snow White in that manner. She likes each of them for their individual personality.
Maybe PTN could’ve done the same for haydens shoes.
I don’t use asics fast plated shoes just their plodders in training…. Can anyone tell me what they mean by ‘inline’ version ?
It’s not a 1 to 1 comparison obviously.
But the way this news was broken, posted clearly has parallels.
Maybe unknowingly by the athlete but the way the rules are written, Hayden and Sam have broken rules and could be DQ’ed (likely not going to happen).
World triathlon, T100 should have spotted but it is also the athlete at fault.
This has been posted for clicks and engagement, just like Jack did with the Imogen case.
Not saying it’s wrong but does seem hypocritical.
it is even in the rulebook : if you miss the cut off time at 60km of bike, you can still go to the run
The problem is that he didn’t get anywhere near 63.8, the last checkpoint he passed was at 48, he didn’t pass either the one at 54 or 60k.
Also, he had already missed the Swim+T1 cut-off, as he got through that at 11.52am.
They shouldn’t even have let him start the bike.
Did he get lost on the swim, like how can you be that far behind the cut off?
I love how Ironman is all about rising to the challenge, anything is possible if you set your mind to it, etc. and even features committed happy (older) athletes hoping to finally make the cut-off in their rewind videos (esp. in the USA), oftentimes with a goal & vision in mind for their family and friends or after having failed the cut-off several times…,… And then you have here T100 literally celebrating influencers in their social media who spend a few hours training for the sport… Soo underwhelming!
Start was delayed by about 20 minutes, because pros were slower than expected.
Swim was very hard, friends of mine were 10 minutes slower than expected. Fury was not the last one to finish the swim.
He started at 10.26. Took him 1.26 to do 2k swim + T1. He basically swam 4min/100m, an absolute joke.
An 86 year old swam faster than him a 2.2k in Istanbul last weekend…just saying.
Don’t think you’re being fair. At least he toed the line.
What is wanting is brazen lack of honesty in sharing his success/performance with 5M followers.
still hopefully his skin is on point:
"# ad Last training session before the triathlon
It’s been hard work on my body but also my skin. The [@kiehlsuki] Ultra Facial Cream and new Ultra Facial Barrier-Hydrating Cleanser have been a must, keeping my skin hydrated and repaired between intense training sessions "
What annoys me the most is that he bragged about it. That he did it with 10 days training. And he didn’t. He doesn’t even deserve a finisher medal.
