If you want to run a 24mm spindle in a BB30 bike, I would get a Praxis conversion BB, rather than running the bb30 to 24mm cups/adaptors

Looks interesting. I’m afraid I don’t know much about bottom brackets, but their marketing sounds good.
You should google around, it’s a pretty well received product. Just to clarify, you’re probably interested in the GXP version.
Thanks for the input! I thought no they mentioned a Praxxis product. I’ll look at it seriously.
I’m running Shimano, isn’t GXP for SRAM?
The Quarq comes in GXP or BB30.
Ah yes, SRAM cranks. Drat it, I don’t see a ceramic bearing option there.
Before you let ceramic bearing availability guide your decision, read this thread:

Your shop is giving you total BS.
Won’t make my decision, just isn’t an option. Praxis stii looks good.
Care to expound further?
I’m getting a new Quark installed, I have a bb30 bottom bracket. My shop is recommending I go with a smaller one and an adapter, which is what I have been using. They say bb30 bearing do not last with a bb30 spindle. With the adaptors, you have just enough flex to allow the bearings to spin without getting taking extra side load that bb30 bearings cannot take. Then the bike will creak and act like it’s going to break, as well as you will have to replace your bearings at least once to twice a year. The only time they almost work well, is when it is installed at the factory.
Does anyone have experience with this?
I use my SRAM Red Quarq (GXP) with the Wheels Manufacturing PF30 bottom bracket on my Dimond (which is BB30) and have had good results.

The install for the PF30 is super easy and only requires a Park BBT-9 tool ($20 wrench).
Good luck!
You can get a quarq in bb30 or gxp. Since your bike is bb30, you should get your quarq as bb30 and avoid all this stuff about adapters. But as others say, if you already have a quarq in gxp, then praxis is the way to go.
All that stuff about bb30 cranks and bearings they told you is complete BS. BB30 works just fine, and in most cases failures are due to the install procedures not being followed. And based on what they told you, that applies to them.
I would find a new shop. Complete bullcrap what they told you. If your bike is BB30, you should get a BB30 Quarq.
