Im the proud owner of a brand-new P3, but Im also a big water drinker and can only get one bottle on the frame. I dont like the aerobar bottle options, and while I dont like the behind-the-seat “bottle rocket” options (seen way too many of them go off the back) I might have to go that way. Does anyone know of better solutions?

that had occured to me, but I was going for less silly than bottle rockets, and those dont qualify.
maybe Im hopeless - any hose-based situation is going make me overdrink (Im weak) - and have to go for behind-the-seat bottle holders.
I use the behind the seat bottle launchers myself. But I do so in combination with an aero drink set-up on my aero bars. Mostly I use that set up for the long training rides and longer races where I have a concentrated personal mixture in the bottles and suppliment with water along the way to thin it out. That way I can use only shortie bottles instead of tall ones. The tall ones jump out much more readily.
Just get cages with the silicone buttons that hold the bottle in, they work the best. Then make sure you pinch the cage shut pretty far so it’s hard to get the bottle in. Once the bottle is about 2/3 full, the threat of launching decreases dramatically so drink from both equally as you start hydrating and they won’t get as squirly on you.

just spend some money and get some good cages, by good that doesn’t mean cool carbon cages it means maybe some Ciussi Gel cages or something that’ll really hold the bottle in well. I use Ciussi Gels and have also had good luck with thier regular aluminum cages (the stainless seemed to flexy) and haven’t launched a bottle in years.

Awesome- thanks for the advice.
The Tacx carrier allows you to adjust the angle that the bottle sit at. By angling them down, the bottles won’t launch out of the cages. Can do either 1 or 2 bottles on the same carrier.
