Boston is 3 weeks from tomorrow. One of my running partners who is racing informed me that the numbers are up. I’m 1697 so I get to start in the first non-elite start pen which is nice. I guess my last-minute entry into the Prince Edward county marathon last fall without the benefit of any long runs turned out to be a good gamble My brother and two of my other training buddies are in the second one.
I’m looking forward to being able to answer “yes” to the “Have you ever done Boston?” question when I’m asked.
Slightly off post, but when I did Boston for the first time in 1987 there were about 4500 registered runners and more bandits then that. Are bandits still part of the scene up there or are non paying runners not welcome? Tim
I’m totally stoked to be in and as #6916 I’m looking forwrd to having fun in a race for once. Training for an IM and a great marathon doesn’t seem to mesh very well.
But I busted my ass to qualify, so what I run is what I run, probably around 3:50 or so.
I’m in. Got PF really bad in January and my plans for a good race went down in flames. Only in the past couple weeks have I started to be able to run halfway decent again. My long run will be a 20K I did back in February. Oh well, it will be a great experience anyway.
