Boston ... who's going?

Boston is 3 weeks from tomorrow. One of my running partners who is racing informed me that the numbers are up. I’m 1697 so I get to start in the first non-elite start pen which is nice. I guess my last-minute entry into the Prince Edward county marathon last fall without the benefit of any long runs turned out to be a good gamble  My brother and two of my other training buddies are in the second one.

I’m looking forward to being able to answer “yes” to the “Have you ever done Boston?” question when I’m asked.

Who else is excited about going?

Here, here!
First time going to Boston, # 5687, starting my taper today.

Slightly off post, but when I did Boston for the first time in 1987 there were about 4500 registered runners and more bandits then that. Are bandits still part of the scene up there or are non paying runners not welcome? Tim

The bandits still fill in the back behind the second corral.

I have a few friends running, will be spectating just after the 1/2 in Wellesley.

I will be volunteering in the med tent at the finish - so I hope NOT to see any of you
.

I’m totally stoked to be in and as #6916 I’m looking forwrd to having fun in a race for once. Training for an IM and a great marathon doesn’t seem to mesh very well.

But I busted my ass to qualify, so what I run is what I run, probably around 3:50 or so.

I’m in. Bought my plane ticket today. Bib #3,000-something. Don’t know where that puts me.

I did exactly 4 long runs to train for this event: 12 miles, 14, 16, and 18.75. Hope I’m not in the next study on sudden death during sports events.

In!

I’ll be there. 4705. My wife is 3037 and was second at the PEC marathon you ran.

I’m in. #2264.
I hope to run OVER 3:30, to save my legs as much as possible for Richmond Du Nat’s

I’m in, # 16091. I’m not as fast as you guys, so wave 2.

I’m in Bib Number 5378
.

I’m in, bib number 3625. This is my fifth start.

My Mom is doing Boston #3 and I’m really proud of her!

I’m in. Got PF really bad in January and my plans for a good race went down in flames. Only in the past couple weeks have I started to be able to run halfway decent again. My long run will be a 20K I did back in February. Oh well, it will be a great experience anyway.

I’m doin it! #1333. So stoked! This will be my first Boston and I’m looking for a decent time after PRing in a half marathon today.

I’ll be there. My number is something crazy like 18,000 something high.

im in #3484. cant wait!
