BOP Race Report Wanted!

Call me weird, but I’d LOVE to see a 15 or 16 hour IMFL finisher post a race report. Please?? Birds of a feather and all that. Anyone? Anyone?

I’ve got some in my past I can send you if you really want to read lengthy reports about very long races…

Is a BOP Silverman race report on Monday or Tuesday of next week good enough?

Since 9700 feet of climbing on the bike course isn’t tough enough, the weather gods are supposed to make things “breezy and cool” on Sunday. Not sure what “breezy” means by southern Nevada standards?

Mike C, you’re a cougar! The only time I’d see you is on the turnaround, unless you’d already lapped me (twice). Surely someone’s proud enough of their 15/16/17 hour race to post the deets for all us other slowbies to appreciate …

From 5.5 years ago, but very BOP. Wow, has it been 5 years?

Wait until Monday/Tuesday when I post my Clearwater Race Report.

Thanks!

You want it, you got it. My race started with swallowing a mouthful of water at the sandbar on the first leg of the first loop. The entire first leg out to the turn was a washing machine. After that, everything spaced out.

Bike was into the wind and took a bit out of me. I thought I was on track nutrition wise, but I would soon find out it was not. By mile 85 of the bike, I had dry mouth, but could not make myself drink without upsetting the stomach. Same on the run/walk. Thought seriously about dropping out at mile 10 of the run. Decided to ditch my nutrition plan and try something else. If it worked, I might be able to finish. Switched to cola and pretzels. It did the trick and I was able to get a second wind and then finish. 15:45:44.

Can’t get much more BOP than that. I plan to drop that down to 13:00 at Redman and 12:00 at PCB next year.
