Bontrager Speed Limit XXX Brakes

Anyone have these yet? Pics installed? Reviews?

My wife ran the regular Speed Limits on her Tri bike last year. Nice brakes. Light - lighter than standard issue Ultegra and other similar options. The only thing that I did not like about them, was that they were hard to adjust. They did not have the fine tuning adjustability that other brakes had. If you are running only one set of wheels all the time, this may not be such an issue, but when you are switching wheel-sets fairly regularly and also pads - from carbon friendly and back to standard pads - that’s when the finickity adjustment is a bit of a problem.

Now you are talking about a newer model, so perhaps these issues have been resolved.

I saw them in person, nice brake for that kind of money you can have zero gravity or frm’s
.

We have them here at the shop. Very nice quality, super-light and pretty sexy looking. Haven’t installed them yet, but they are mechanically the same as the other Speed Limit brakes…

Sorry for the bad cell phone photo

I just got them, and am having clearance issues using them with my Hed Jet 6’s, which I believe are 23mm wide. Anyone have similar issues. I just resolved it by opening the quick release. They work fine with all my training wheels.

I got them with my bike and took them off after one ride. Come to think of it, I cut off the front brake mid-ride. I stopped at a friends house and cut the cable and took the brake off and put it in my pocket.

I for the life of me couldnt get the brakes to adjust. One side was always touching the brake surface. It was horrible. I had the brakes all the way open and it still didnt work. At the time I worked at MJ’s so it was a trek guy that built the bike for me… He couldnt even figure out of they adjusted.

Granted that was a yr ago so maybe the new ones are better. I put my SRAM Reds on and havent had a problem since

i’va had a pair for a while.
once you dial them in they are ok, but they are very fiddly and stop no better than anything else i have tried.
i wouldn’t buy them again.
