For those of you who have the Bont “sub” shoes or, I guess other shoes, I have the sub 9, and I love the shoes except for the fact that the right heel cup is rubbing my right heel to tight, and I don’t think the heel cup is moldable I have it completely molded to my foot, and its a perfect fit except for this one problem with the right heel cup. It doesn’t do this on the left, which no doubt is due to my feet being slightly different. Does anyone know, or anyone else have problems with the heel?
Use a heat gun to soften of up and the back of a screwdriver to make a gap. Easy
x2, kid of - if you live in an area with wintersports take them to a ski shop and let their boots expert take a look at it, they may be able to blow out the heel cup with a bit more specificity depending upon the manufacturing…of course you’ll have to be cool with the fact they may destroy your shoe without liability to them…good luck, that is an irritating problem I had with the trivent and was unable to solve
.
This is slightly above the carbon area, its the inch above the carbon to the loop. I’m not sure its moldable. In fact I just baked it, its above the carbon mold, and touches that hard plastic heel support. Its rubbing the upper part of my heel. I think making the heel deeper at the carbon area is making it worse.
Dont take them to a ski shop.
You can mold them yourself and yes the heel is moldable. You can either heat gun the heal or put them back in the oven. if you put them back in the oven the cleats have to come off though. If you heat gun them be careful no to melt the glue holding the upper material on.
Do one shoe at a time, and when you put them back on and are in your weight forward, knees bent stance (or however the instructions word it) have someone press around the heel area forming it to your heel.
