Bonjour

Pardon my French, I have been digging up my old french dictionares and getting excited about the new races in Quebec next year. It will be my first ironman. i have done 70.3s before and plan on doing the 70.3 MT in june as it is perfect timing. I do have some training questions but before that i would like to wish everyone competing this weekend good luck in Canada and Louisville. So training for the ironman requires some long rides. Which i will be doing on the weekends much like everyone else. I have seen in multiple training plans back to back long rides. Say 4 hours on saturday and on sunday. anybody do this? what are the benefits if any and is it necessary for an 11 hour goal. Thank you for any advice. Au revoir

Hi
I plan on doing something like your plan to train for Ironman Canada 2012. Bike 4 hours on Saturday and then 2-3 on Sunday. I just don’t have the time during the week to bike far.
I’ll see how it goes I guess. I plan on going for a 30 minute run after the bike workout on Saturday, then a 1 hour run after the shorter bike workout on Sunday. I will also swim two days a week and probably run on Wednesday or Thursday.
