It’s all that lifting I’m doing.
It is 40* in Maine and I rode outside for 1:15. Was 30* when I started ,warmed right up,
SPRINGGGGGGGGG
I know that this will simply serve to upset everyone who reads this post, but it’s 85 degrees out here in Las vegas. ![]()

So - what kind of weather do you call spring???
Here’s a song for Spring - not a RR.
50 and raining out here. Bleh.
So - what kind of weather do you call spring???
It’s a DATE, today is the first day of spring.
I suppose it starts to feel spring to me when it cracks 40*.
Just this week, I was out running without a jacket. Also, during that run, I saw a girl on the sidewalk wearing a short skirt. So who cares about the longer daylight and the singing birds - it’s springtime in Maine.
(Just ignore the fact that the girl was wearing said short skirt on a day that was still cold enough to cause a typical Californian to hibernate.)
I headed out for a run this afternoon with the sun shining and in the mid 50s. I got to wear a short sleeve shirt for the first time in many months. The first 15 minutes or so were awesome. Music playing, feeling good, happy mood despite a crappy morning. All is well. Then, the clouds start to roll in and the temp drops probably around 5 degrees. Hmm…not looking good…
I start some intervals 20 minutes into my run and by the time I’m finished, 10 minutes later, the wind is starting to blow. Then, the sheets of rain started. Literally sheets of rain. Huge gusts of wind, branches falling down around me. I take off for home, laughing at the obsurdity. Rain continues to fall in epic sheets, trees whipping back and forth. I figured I’d wrap up the full 40 mins on the schedule just for kicks. I’m already wet. Then, the hail starts. In the same volume as the rain. It actually hurt! I turned into my driveway at 37 minutes and called it done.
I was dripping wet. This goes on my top 5 worse weather runs. What is funny is by the time I had dried off and started making my smoothing the thunder started. 20 minutes after that, the sun was back. I couldn’t shake the chill so I had to take a bubble bath.
Crazy.
Welcome to spring.
