How fast does this race fill up? I’m planning on doing it this year, but have a few other entries that I have to get in asap, and signing up for multiple races at the same time isn’t the easiest on the wallet (but I guess nothing about this sport is). How long can I put it off before it fills up? Also, is this race typically wetsuit legal?
I don’t think it’s ever filled up… It’s put on by the Purdue Tri club… Not a bad race venue, somewhat hilly bike course, part of the run is cross country. Long transition from the swim to the bike… all in all a good small race. The one time I did it, it was wetsuit legal.
Agree. I don’t think it fills up at all. It’s a fun little race with great memories for me - I did that race the morning after meeting the woman who would be my future wife. Had a blast and reccommend it if you’re in the area.
i love boilerman. small race- maybe 200 or so people when i did it a couple years ago. mostly college kids from indiana, illinois, and a few other schools in the Big 10. it’s a great bargain- i think it was like $20 if you registered early, $25 if you registered late.
not a lot of frills at this race, but it is a lot of fun.
