He is asking Lance every tough question out there. He’s covering every angle. But he’s been fair about it. Lance has had every opportunity to give a complete answer. Incidentally, Lance’s brain looks like it’s going 5X faster than his mouth when he’s answering. He seems to be trying terribly hard to be concise, but it looks like he could talk about this for four hours.
Costas has been excellent in every sport that he has covered. He was awesome with Lance tonite. I liked the questioning angle on Ferrari and Lance came through with the perfect answers.
I feel like slapping Larry every time he say Eqweep. Thank god Costas is there, Larry is totally clueless.
Last week Costas was offered to host Larry King’s show while Larry was out. The show was going to be about the Natalie Holloway case. Costas refused to do the show. My respect for him doubled after that.
I agree with everything you said except the Ekweep part. That made me laugh.
would be cool to have Costas to replace Al Trautwig…the late day coverage would be tolerable!
I agree 100% - he is a consummate professional and one of the best ever. I would really hate to play Sports Trivia with him 
He could probably hop on a plane and cover a curling match in Canada as well as a Cricket event in India.
He is a good journalist; an A-hole in person but hey.
Interesting - how do you know this? I have briefly met him in person, but it was at a Charity golf event, so I couldn’t (and certainly wouldn’t post = libel) get a good read. Just curious …
I used to love his old show ‘later’ that was on about 12 years ago after letterman. an interview show it was excellent. sort of a tomorrow show but not boring. bob seger was on once and it was quite interesting.
I liked it so much I wrote to him and told him so. He sent me a nice postcard back.
Umm… I thought Costas hated cycling and all the non-team sports. Sure he’ll cover them and be a good journalist… but he’s probably thinking “this guy is a pussy, give me football players anyday”. That’s always the impression I got from Costas… and he pretty much admitted as much when he was on the Daily Show.
I agree. I have seen Costas cover XC skiing in the Olympic games, Wimbledon, the World Series etc etc. Still can’t envision him covering NASCAR, but I certainly could see him covering India vs Australia cricket from Eden Gardens in Calcutta, or Canada vs Scotland women’s curling from Saskatoon in the space of 3 days. The guy rocks. He is damn good, but would likely use the whole OLN budget if he were to replace Trautwig
