He should get more than it’s really worth because it’s a piece of cycling history.
It’s not really a piece of history. The lotus on which Chris won Olympic Gold, and had several other impressive results is a piece of history. This is a piece of carbon. The owner doesn’t even make any claims about what Chris did on it, maybe Chris just rode to the corner shop on it for a packet of fags… er cigarettes.
The one he road to gold on at Barcelona was a track bike. This is the road version. Did he win the TdF prologue on this bike when he raced for GAN ? If so, it belongs in some find of a cycling hall of fame of sorts.

No, he didn’t use a lotus for that. Here’s a pic of him on the start ramp that day (google rocks!). This isn’t a piece of history, it’s a piece of carbon, and belongs where it’s going, in some Scouser’s garage!
