Blue Seventy Pointzero 3 Swim Skin, Anyone using?

Hey was looking into getting a Blue Seventy Pointzero 3 Swim Skin, and was just wondering if anyone has or is using one. I would love to know the pros and cons of this suit. Thanks everyone.

I have one! It’s pretty sweet.

Pros: Nice and cool in the water, haven’t overheated, adds a TINY bit of buoyancy (or at least, I feel like it does), and it moves really quick through the water. And, of course, legal for all swims, wetsuit or non.

Cons: It gets REALLY friggin hot when you’re onshore in the sun, waiting to get into the water. It’s also, of course, somewhat pricey (unless you buy it from a cool STer, like I did - thanks again Gary!). And, I guess another con is that it’s probably slower than a wetsuit if you’re in wetsuit legal temperatures… but again, much faster than no suit at all.

Obviously, I like the thing, so I don’t have many cons… hopefully other people can chime in.

And of course, all my observations are qualitative, so when I say it’s “faster” through the water, it’s just my observations; I haven’t done any scientific studies proving so

Hey Thank you very much, it seems like overall that most people that have one really like it. I have a few tris coming, that are wet suit illegal so I thought this might be a good investment.

I would give Xterra Velocity a very hard look, before pulling the trigger. Very high quality and backed by top notch customer service. Just food for thought.

I have the long leg + version. Love it and second what was said before. I will say that it is hard to tell if it makes me faster. How can a piece of frog shit floating down a river get faster?

Anyway, in all seriousness I love my Point Zero 3+

I have one. I neither hate it, nor love it. Overrated IMO. Save your money.

Great, I will check that suit out also.

I love it !! " Frog Shit Floating down a river" That is to funny… Thanks!

Thanks, so do you just go tri suit ? I fell like mine drags some…

Have the Xterra Velocity and love it.

I have one, swim faster in it than without, very nice when it’s too hot for a wetsuit. Decided to wear it at the masters state swim meet a couple of years ago, PR’d the 1000 by 40".

I wore one in Hawaii last year. I am a pathetic swimmer, but I love it just the same.

Hey Thanks alot, Do you swim with it in the pool often? How does it hold up in the chlorine?

Hey Barry, a 23 time IM Finisher !! You are the man!!! Hey Thanks for your advice…

Only swim in the pool was at the state meet, use it for open water swims so I can’t say how it would hold up with continual use but I think it’s meant to be a “racing” suit.

Kona is the only swim for which I have used it and I took 3 minutes off of my of my prior time when I wore the point zero. Considering that over 1200 athletes left the water before I did I don’t know that those 3 minutes mean anything. Because I suck at swimming I am happy to have anything to improve my comfort and I feel more stable and slippery with the speedsuit over just a speedo. I felt like Sasquatch my first time at Kona and got the long speedsuit as it allows me to avoid shaving as well. The con is that the arm holes are rough and will totally rip you a new one on the inner arms and lats. I got totally rubbed raw but I saw several athletes with deep, deep abrasions from their speed suits. If anyone has a remedy for this I would love to hear it as it is the one thing I really don’t look forward to October 10th.

Body glide. Did you try that? If that doesn’t work, I dunno.
