Just got back from my promotion to Master, 4th Dan, Tae Kwon Do. This took me 8 1/2 years which is actually kinda quick. I get another stripe on my belt and a nice certificate for my “love me” wall.
I did however get a surprize when my Master Instructor named me as a master instructor also, the two do not always go hand in hand and him giving that title to me came as a pleasent surprize.
I changed my screen name temporarily as I am geeked about this right now and still on an adrenilian high from my testing. I will change it back in a couple of days as I am not that conceited, it will take some getting used to. A bunch of my students made it a point to call me Master Jim as they congratulated me. Boy that felt weird. Anyhow here is some pics of me recieving my belt. I might have some action shots later but this is what was put on my camera by my sister.
There was an interview recently with the guy playing Nappy D, and they asked him if there would be a Napoleon Dynamite II, and he said in the next movie, it might be him and Pedro in a bike race.
Good Job and congratulations. I have always loved the martial arts, both for the fighting skill and for the mental discipline/philosophical outlook that it confers.
I’m sorry, but seeing those pictures I can’t get that Seinfeld episode out of my head when Kramer was the Karate champ but he was fighting a bunch of little kids. That and Rex-Kwon-Do is killing me.
I just rented the movie Napolean Dynamite based on the references I was getting on this thread. I must say i didn’t care for it, not my kind of humor. However the whole Rex Kwon Do section was very funny. Just not my thing.
